What an inspired idea - a signed performance to introduce the Beethoven. Thanks so much for the introduction.

As entertaining as ever. - thank you. Love the Proms although it's a long time since I have attended in person. Introduced me to Orff's " Carmina Birana " and lots more. It was great to attend as an impoverished student nurse and staff nurse. Love the thought of disco dancing. When husband and I celebrated our 60ths we had a range of music that we danced to.....the Stones, the Beatles, " Maggie May ", " Stranger on the Shore ", the Hornpipe and more. Great fun.

Thank you for the link to the disco prom… what fun! I rather like your term ‘palette cleanser’ in reference to the crime fiction you have been reading as that is exactly how I read crime too… a bit of light relief between meatier choices!

The Prom sounds lovely. Of course Prom here means a special HS dance at the end of the school year.

The Aurora link only works for UK folks.

I’m surprised that Gregory took a departure in her story telling. Maybe a wayward assistant or a new publisher’s influence?

Thank you for the description of the Proms, June! The live concerts are a wonderful experience, aren't they? And the promenaders are a fascinatiing bunch to watch. I remember one year thre was a massive rainstorm during the concert and the roof began to leak, creating a steady drip of water down onto their enclosure. They quietly moved to one side and continued listening to the music with rapt attention. Impressive.

That was an interesting read regarding the origins of the Proms. My wife and I were at the Disco Proms back in July. It was great fun reliving it on TV last night & spotting ourselves in the audience (thankfully at a distance so my poor dance moves couldn't be seen!)

I’ve enjoyed the Proms this year and stumbled on the Disco Prom last evening just as it started. Wow! Around 90 minutes of pure joy - and I wouldn’t describe myself as being a fan of disco!
